A prominent nunatak at the E side of the mouth of Lambert Glacier, situated 20 mi SSW of Manning Nunataks. Sighted on a flight by an Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE) Beaver aircraft over the Amery Ice Shelf on Nov. 2, 1957. Named by ANCA for Flight Sergeant R. Pickering of the RAAF Antarctic Flight at Mawson Station, 1957.
