Description

Point 0.2 mi NW of Fishtrap Cove, forming the S part of the W extremity of Stonington Island, close off the W coast of Graham Land. First surveyed by the U.S. Antarctic Service (USAS), 1939-41, whose East Base was located on this island. Resurveyed in 1946-47 by the Falklands Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS), and so named by them because of the flag pole which was erected by the U.S. Antarctic Service (USAS) on a rocky knoll close NE of this point.
