A lone coastal nunatak 4 mi SSE of Cape Kinsey and 3 mi NE of Mount Conrad in the Goodman Hills. Mapped by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and air photos, 1960-63. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Melvin W. Knight, U.S. Navy (USN), Operations Division Yeoman responsible for handling office routine in Washington, DC, Christchurch, and McMurdo Station during Operation Deep Freeze (OpDFrz) 1967-70.
