Group of nunataks about midway between the Napier Mountains and Aker Peaks. Roughly mapped by Norwegian cartographers from aerial photos taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition, 1936-37. Remapped from aerial photos taken by the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE) in 1956 and 1960, and named after A.J. Newman, senior diesel mechanic at Mawson in 1961.
