The highest peak (1,910 m) of Orion Massif, Rymill Coast, Palmer Land. Mapped by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from U.S. Navy (USN) aerial photographs taken 1966-69. Named by UK Antarctic Place-names Committee (UK-APC) in 1976 after the star Rigel in the constellation Orion.
