Description (see definition): A rocky point at the N side of the entrance to Powell Cove on Clark Peninsula. Mapped from air photos taken by U.S. Navy (USN) Operation Highjump, 1946-47, and at first thought to be a small island. It was included in a ground survey by Carl R. Eklund in 1957. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for photographer's mate I.A. Whitney, USN, who participated in Operation Highjump.
