Description (see definition): A glacier about 2.5 mi long which flows from Sladen Summit to enter Emmanuel Glacier, in the Royal Society Range, Victoria Land. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) in 1994 after Richard S. Williams, Jr., U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) research geologist, an authority in aerial and satellite investigations of geomorphic processes and the fluctuations of glaciers on a global basis, particularly in Iceland and Antarctica; co-editor (with Jane G. Ferrigno) of Satellite Image Atlas of Glaciers of the World.
