Description (see definition): A mountain rising to over 2800 meters between the heads of LaPrade Valley and Cheu Valley in northern Cumulus hills, Queen Maud Mountains. The northern slopes of the mountain comprise rugged largely ice-free terrain that descends 1500 meters to McGregor Glacier. The southern part is ice covered and descends gradually to the head of Logie Glacier. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) (2008) after Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois. Augustana College has a long history in polar and glacial geology, with strong ties to Antarctic research. The Fryxell Geology museum at Augustana College is the home of the only fossils of Cryolophosaurus, the largest carnivorous dinosaur found to date in Antarctica.
