Description (see definition): Cove on the E side of Greenwich Island, in the South Shetland Islands. The name Hardy, for Admiral Sir Thomas Hardy (1769-1839), was originally given by British sealer Robert Fildes in 1820-22 to what is now Sartorius Point (q.v.). Hardy Cove was applied by the UK Antarctic Place-names Committee (UK-APC) in 1961 to preserve Fildes' name on Greenwich Island.
