Description (see definition): A glacier about 8 mi long which drains the east slopes of Pomerantz Tableland southward of Armstrong Platform, in the Usarp Mountains. Mapped by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960-62. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Merritt R. Helfferich, U.S. Antarctic Research Program (USARP) worker in the field of ionospheric physics at South Pole Station, 1967-68.
